Maine In The Mail started because we wanted to support those artists — and connect them with people who love Maine. The ones who grew up here and left. The ones who visit every summer and carry a piece of it home. The ones who've never been but feel it calling.
Every envelope is a small argument that physical things still matter. That a handmade postcard arriving in your mailbox can feel like a letter from someone who understands you.

Every month you receive a 4×6 art print, a seasonal Maine recipe card, two custom die-cut stickers, a personal note from the featured artist, and one rotating paper good (collage sheet, mini calendar, pen pal card, or similar). Everything fits flat inside a standard envelope and ships with a single Forever stamp.
We ship all envelopes before the 1st of each month. New subscribers who sign up during the current month will receive their first envelope with the following month's shipment. You'll get a confirmation email when your envelope is on its way.
Yes — monthly subscribers can cancel at any time, and no further charges will be made. Prepaid 6-month and 12-month plans are paid upfront and do not auto-renew, so there's nothing to cancel. You'll simply receive your envelopes for the full duration of your plan.
We ship anywhere in the contiguous United States. That's the whole point — Maine In The Mail is for ex-Mainers who miss home, for summer visitors who want a piece of it year-round, and for anyone who loves the idea of receiving something handmade and real in their mailbox.
We partner with Maine-based artists and makers who work in illustration, printmaking, watercolor, and related paper arts. We look for people whose work reflects Maine authentically — its landscapes, culture, seasons, and spirit. Artists are compensated for their work, retain all rights to their art, and receive full attribution inside every envelope. We stand behind the quality of every envelope we send. If something arrives damaged or missing, reach out to us at the Contact page and we'll make it right. We're a small operation and we genuinely care about every single subscription.
On the Shop page, toggle any plan to "Give as a Gift" and enter your recipient's name, mailing address, and an optional personal message. We'll send the envelopes directly to them. Gift subscriptions on the monthly plan will continue month-to-month unless cancelled. Prepaid gift plans ship for the number of months selected, then stop automatically — no awkward renewal surprises.
The 6-month and 12-month plans are one-time payments that cover the full subscription period upfront. They do not auto-renew — you pay once, receive your envelopes each month for the chosen duration, and that's it. They're the best way to lock in a lower per-envelope price and make sure you don't miss a month.
